Customers rave about the haddock, highlighted for its meaty, flaky texture and flavorful, crispy batter. The curry sauce is a standout item; those looking for an authentic chippy experience will appreciate the house-made versions.
The environment receives consistent praise. Whether dining inside or taking advantage of outdoor seating, diners feel well cared for among the casual yet comfortable décor. It’s a great spot for a quick bite or a relaxed family meal.
A notable mention goes to the desserts. The sticky toffee pudding and Bramley apple pie are often described as must-tries, rounding out an already satisfying meal with the perfect sweet finish.
Most Disliked
Occasional waits can occur during peak times, particularly on Friday evenings. While the service is generally efficient, those arriving during busy hours may need to exercise a bit of patience.
Some diners find the children's menu slightly limited compared to the main offerings. Although it caters well to younger tastes, adventurous eaters might feel their options are restricted.
Additionally, while the outdoor seating is enjoyable on sunny days, it may lack the same ambiance and comfort found indoors. Those sensitive to noise or activity might prefer the coziness of the indoor dining area.

Quite possibly the nicest fish, chips and curry sauce I've ever had. Fish was meaty, batter was crispy, curry sauce was flavoursome. No complaints.
Very modern and inviting atmosphere. The fish & chips were really tasty and fresh. Staff were hard working and friendly too. Didn’t take long to get served at teatime on a December Friday evening. Reasonably priced too. Will definitely return.
Really lovely fish and chip shop with a warm, welcoming feel. The staff were friendly and happy to help, and the place is clean and well looked after. There’s a good atmosphere, and the service was quick and organised. Everything feels fresh and well-made, and it’s clear they take pride in what they do. Definitely one of the better spots around—reliable, tasty, and always a pleasure to visit. Would happily recommend to anyone looking for a proper chippy experience
Tasty food and really friendly staff. Clean and cosy restaurant area and outside facilities for when it's sunny. New visit: I had the pensioners special. Three courses (I chose vegetable soup, haddock & chips and apple pie) Great value at £15.
Just had a lovely lunch. The batter was crispy, and the haddock was white and flaky. The staff were welcoming and attentive. I would recommend you try it.
What a gem of a find. Bern passing this fish and chips shop / restraunt on way too and from Dewsbury hospital. Finally decided to stop, and my was it worth it. Staff very helpful , friendly and accommodating. Most of all fish and chips cooked fresh, in clean oil. What more can I say. Please visit .
